PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a column base metal fitting easy to install and excellent in appearance and a joining structure using the same, for joining the column base of an independent column made of wood with a footing. ;SOLUTION: A column base metal fitting 4, constructed of a base 41 having anchor bolt through holes 45, upright plates 42 held upright on the base 41 and crossing each other in cruciform on plan view at the center of the base 41, a column base support plate 43 provided roughly horizontally on the upright plates 42, and a tenon pipe 44 placed upright on the upper surface of the column base support plate 43 and having pin through holes 46, is positioned on a hardened footing 6 and fixed in place, and a column base 5 in which a mortise 51 and a pin fitting hole 52 are formed is mounted on the column base metal fitting 4 and placed upright. Drift pins 7 passing through the pin fitting holes 52 and the pin through holes 46 are driven in from the side face of the column base 5 and tightened, and a wood plug 8 is fitted into an opening at each end of the pin fitting hole 52 to close the opening.
