PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bidirectional ring laser gyroscope of a low cost and high accuracy with excellent mass productivity, a rotation angular velocity measurement method, a bearing sensor, a bearing measurement method, and a navigation system. ;SOLUTION: Light is emitted from an LD(laser diode) to a ring laser oscillator and bidirectionally circulated in FLR and the rotation data of the angular velocity or the like of a rotation angular velocity detector 10 are detected based on the phase difference of the bidirectionally circulated light. The rotation angular velocity detector 10 is rotated by a motor 22 and the rotation data of the angular velocity or the like obtained when the rotation angular velocity detector 10 stands still, are stored in a disk body 21. The rotation data of the angular speed or the like of the rotation angular velocity detector 10 are calculated based on the difference of the rotation data of the angular velocity or the like of the sum of the rotation angular velocity detector 10 and the motor 22 obtained when the rotation angular velocity detector 10 is rotated and the rotation data of the angular speed or the like read from the disk body 21.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
