PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject cage of high scallop production yield, enabling scallop to be raised in a stably suspended and spread condition, with the raising activities simplified and speeded up considerably. SOLUTION: This scallop-raising cage 6 has such a design that a suspended rope 2 is fastened at the intersection point 1A of a square frame 1 with the intersection point at the center, a knot 2A is formed at an appropriate upper position along the rope and both ends 2B are extended upward and downward in appropriate lengths, respectively, and the square frame 1 is enveloped with a mesh-knit fabric and the edge of the knit fabric is set on the knot 2A so that the knit fabric surfaces connecting the four corners and the top of the square frame 1 become tensioned when this cage is suspended and spread; wherein the knit fabric surfaces connecting the symmetric two corners and the top of the square frame 1 are jointed to each other with a 1 to 5 cm width, and furthermore, sewn and fixed on both ends so as to be shorter than the length of the knit fabric on the upper surface by 3-10%, thus providing an openable housing port 5.
