PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a trouble for a performer to select an operation element, and enable a beginner to detect a chord as intended without any inconvenience. ;SOLUTION: A computer detects a performed chord through a process according to a program. Regarding this chord detection program, a single finger chord detection routine at Step 110 is executed prior to a fingered chord detection routine at step 114, and the detection of a chord performed in a single finger mode is made to precede the detection of a chord performed in a fingered mode. In addition, only when a chord is not detected in the single finger chord detection routine a chord is detected in the fingered chord detection routine through a process at step 112.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
