PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provided a double volute casing which can surely keep its strength without thickening the wall of a casing member, and disposing any reinforcing member such as ribs and the like even if a pump is made large in size, and furthermore, is excellent in assemblage and civil engineering workability. ;SOLUTION: This double volute casing 1 is provided with roughly single cylindrical outer casing members 5 having discharging pipes 4a and 4b, and with an inner casing member built in the aforesaid casing members. Two roughly scroll shaped members 6a and 6b consisting of an inner casing member, are so designed that a passage collecting fluid discharged out of the outer circumferential side of an impeller 3, is divided into two passages which are relatively symmetric with respect to a rotating shaft 8. And one discharging port 6a₁ is released within the outer casing member 5 so as to be connected with one discharging pipe 4a by way of a passage 11 within the outer casing member 5, and the other discharging port 6b₁ is directly connected with the other discharging pipe 4b.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
