PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photosynthesis reactor capable of recovering photoenergy not utilized for producing a substance as another energy without lowering the production of the substance, and to provide a method for culturing photosynthesizing microorganisms. ;SOLUTION: Photosynthesizing microorganisms are cultured, while a light- receiving surface 11 is shielded with light-shielding portions 13 such as solar batteries so that the energy utilization of light 12 received by a photosynthesis reactor 10 gives the approximately same light-receiving efficiency as a saturated energy utilization efficiency, and the photoenrgy received on the light-shielding portions 13 is taken out as another energy such as electricity.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
