PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method to combust and remove halogen-contg. org. compds. by using a catalyst having a higher combusting and removing effect. SOLUTION: This catalyst for combustion and removal of halogen-contg. org. compds. comprises a zeolite catalyst containing at least one kind of platinum group element and at least one kind of transition element except for platinum elements. The catalyst for combustion and removal of halogen-contg. org. compds. contains platinum as the platinum element and iron as the transition element. In the combusting and removing method of halogen-contg. org. compds., the catalyst for combustion and removal of halogen-contg. org. compds. above described is used.
