PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a file downloading method and a download file format, capable of automatically applying thawing processing to download data, even when a thawing program is not prepared on the network equipment side when a program, various data, or the like is downloaded to the network equipment in a compressed form. ;SOLUTION: A bound file 20 obtained by binding a thawing program 21 and a compressed program file or a compressed data file 20' is downloaded from a network managing equipment 1 to a network equipment 3. The downloaded file is stored in the network equipment 3. After the downloading, the stored thawing program is booted, and the control of a program is transferred to the program 21. The program 21 executes a thawing processing of the compressed file. At the end of the thawing of all compressed files, program booting processing is executed.
