RESOLUTION MEASUREMENT DEVICE FOR IMAGE READER, RESOLUTION MEASUREMENT METHOD THEREFOR AND RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resolution measurement device of an image reader, the resolution measurement method and a recording medium for enabling the automatic computer processing of a resolution test in which one piece element of a CCD element resolves one bar. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a test chart 2 prepared by shifting a black-and-white line pair pattern pitch by a slight amount from the read picture element pitch of the image reader, a read means 3 for reading the test chart 2 and reading the area of a sufficient width so as to provide a part where the pattern and the picture element surely match, a segmentation means 4 for segmenting only the required part of read image data, an analysis means 5 for calculating a gradation difference for each picture element of the read images of the entire area of the segmented image data and detecting a maximum gradation difference and a judgement means 6 for judging the resolution test to be successful in the case that the maximum gradation difference exceeds a normal/defective condition judgement value.
