PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a water soluble lubricant for condom, having sliminess which is lacking in silicone oil without causing whitening of condom by water absorption and obtain a condom coated with the water-soluble lubricant for condom. ;SOLUTION: This lubricant is composed of a water-soluble wetting agent without causing whitening of condom and a water-soluble sliminess-providing agent for applying sliminess to condom, and aqueous solution of one or more kinds of compounds from among sodium lactate, trimethylglycine, dl-sodium malate, di-pyrrolidone-carboxylic acid salts, sugar alcohols and glycerol is used as the water-soluble wetting agent and one or more kinds of compounds from among gum arabic, sodium alginate, propylene glycol alginate, carrageenan, carboxymethyl cellulose sodium, xanthan gum, gellan gum, tamarind gum, dextran, furcellaran, pullulan and sodium polyacrylate are used as the water-soluble sliminess-providing agent.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
