PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent shaping of wavy edges of a rolled plate and easily obtain a grooved pipe of copper or a copper alloy without generation of a defect by rolling a copper or copper alloy plate while applying tension in a specific ratio range of the yield strength of a grooved rolled plate in its advancing direction. ;SOLUTION: When a copper plate 4 is passed between a grooved work roll 1 and a smooth work roll 2, the copper plate 4 is rolled between the grooved work roll 1 and the smooth work roll 2, and the same time, the groove formed on the surface of the grooved work roll 1 is transferred on to the surface of the copper plate 4 and a grooved rolled plate is formed. In the rolling process, the rolled plate is wound on a receiving recoiler 5 while applying the tension of, for example, 130 kg which being 50% of the yield strength of the rolled plate. As the plate material to be rolled, a copper or copper alloy plate can be used. The tension to pull the rolled plate may be 10 to 80% of the yield strength of the rolled plate.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
