ADDITIVE SYSTEM FOR IMPROVING ADHESION OF SILICONE ELASTOMER AND STABILITY OF THE SAME ELASTOMER TO HYDROLYSIS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an adhesion-promoting composition capable of increasing durability of adhesiveness of a silicone elastomer in high humidity by including an epoxy-functional silane and an acid selected from an organic acid and phosphoric acid. SOLUTION: This composition comprises (A) an epoxy-functional silane and (B) an acid selected from an organic acid and phosphoric acid. b-3,4- Epoxycyclohexylethyltrimethoxysilane, g-glucidoxypropyltri-methoxysilane or the like is preferably used as the component A. Acetic acid, citric acid or the like is preferably used as the component B. It is preferable to use the component B in an amount of about 1 pt.wt. based on 1-10 pts.wt. component A and it is more preferable to use the component B in an amount of about 1 pt.wt. based on 2-4 pts.wt. component A. The composition can be used so as to form addition-curing type silicone elastomer composition by adding the composition to addition curing polysiloxane resin and a curing agent to the resin.
