PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely estimate the level of a foundation ground face by deciding the optimum arrangement of investigation borings by means of a computer system through a specified means. ;SOLUTION: A level correlation of a foundation ground face and a geographical face is investigated through existing geological data or the like. If there is a correlation, land heights above sealevel are read on lattice points on the basis of a topographic map obtained through the survey of the ground surface and input in a computer to digitize them. Then, a function model necessary for estimating calculation with kriging is decided and the parameter is estimated and an object zone for evaluation of an optimum arrangement and the number of investigation borings are decided. And an object function for optimization based on the estimated error of the kriging is decided. Then, the object function is minimized by introduction of genetic algorism to obtain an optimum arrangement of the investigation borings and plot the positional coordiates on the topographic map. In this way, the investigation accuracy can be improved and an optimum arrangement can be efficiently obtained by means of genetic algorism.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
