PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas velocity control method of a vapor phase polymn. vessel which can steadily control the gas linear velocity for a long time without using a differential pressure flow meter and steadily measure the recycle gas quantity for a long time with high precision. ;SOLUTION: This gas phase olefin polymn. device comprises an olefin polymn. device using a fluidized bed vapor phase polymn. reactor 1 containing a solid catalyst component, a recycle device, including 8 and 11, which recycles the gas contg. a polymn. component taken out of the deceleration region 7 in the upper part of the fluidized bed vapor phase polymn. reactor as a recycle gas to the fluidized bed vapor phase polymn. reactor 1, and a supply device 9 which newly supply the olefin to the fluidized bed vapor phase polymn. reactor 1.
