PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intermetallic alloy composed essentially of titanium, having high elastic limit, high creep-resisting strength, and sufficient ductility at ambient temperature. ;SOLUTION: This alloy has a chemical composition consisting of, by atom, 16-26% Al, 18-28% Nb, 0-2% Mo, 0-0.8% Si, 0-2% Ta, 0-2% Zr and the balance Ti and satisfying an additional condition of Mo+Si+Zr+Ta0.4%. Respective ranges of conditions for preparation, forming, and heat treatment, suited to the use of the material, are also determined.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
