Production method of workability, excellent ferritic stainless steel strip in corrosion resistance and surface properties

PURPOSE: To produce a ferritic stainless steel strip having superior corrosion resistance, workability, and surface luster characteristic even if the stages after cold rolling are omitted, free from surface defects, such as scale defect, and inferior biting, and excellent in surface characteristic. ;CONSTITUTION: A stainless steel, having a composition which contains, by weight, 13-19% Cr and contains, if necessary, 0.01-1.0%, in total, of one or more elements selected from Ti, Nb, V, Zr, B, and Al and/or 0.1-6.0%, in total, of either or both of Mo and Cu and in which the total content of C, N, O, and S is regulated to ≤0.0100%, is used. A slab of this steel is heated to 1000-1150°C, hot-roughed under the conditions of ≤0.30 friction coefficient at final pass and ≥40% draft at final pass, and hot-finish-rolled, or, after hot finish rolling, annealing where holding is done at 600-1000°C for ≥30sec is performed and pickling are further performed, followed by skin pass rolling at 1-15% draft by using rolls of ≤0.4 surface roughness (Ra).;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
