PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lateral closing machine driven from an outside in which its structure is simple and a releasing of a closed plug is carried out by a simple operating sequence. ;SOLUTION: A lateral closing machine 1 is comprised of a bottom member 3, and a closing plug 5 arranged to be slidable in a lateral direction against a cannon barrel shaft 12 within the bottom member 3. The closing plug 5 is provided with a control cam 9. In case that the control cam 9 is oscillated at one end of a releasing lever fixed to an oscillating frame which can be oscillated around a rotating shaft 13, and similarly the releasing lever 14 is oscillated from its initial position to its terminal end position by an external driving device 17 fixed to an oscillating frame, it may be slid to the releasing position of the closing plug 5.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
