PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a communication method, which is to be adopted by a user, to easily deal with the case using a telephone line, CATV line or radio communication channel as well and to easily deal with biological information required for the user even in the case of electrocardiogram, blood pressure, pulse, body temperature or any combination. SOLUTION: This medical device has a measuring module 5 equipped with measuring circuits 35, 37 and 39 for measuring biological information, main body 3 of portable medical device for storing the measured biological information, and communication module 7 equipped with a transmission circuit 53 for transmitting the stored biological information to a host computer. Then, only one attaching/detaching mechanism 75 is provided on the main body of portable medical device and shared for respectively selectively attaching/ detaching plural measuring modules prepared corresponding to the biological information required for the user and plural communication module prepared corresponding to the communication method.
