PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pattern recognition learning method capable of minimizing adverse effects due to learning in dictionary learning for pattern recognition processing using plural recognition procedures and utilizing the merits of respective recognition procedures. SOLUTION: The method uses plural recognition procedures. In this case, a recognition processing part 8 executes pattern recognition processing for an input pattern and determines a learning reference for a recognition dictionary at least based on the recognition result of the pattern recognition processing and the recognition results of respective recognition procedures. Then the recognition dictionary is learned in accordance with the recognition procedure determined by the learning reference to learn the dictionary and the learning method.
