PURPOSE: To provide a multipoint video conference system with a collaborative work interface which enables collaborative work just like a user sits around a conference table together with a user at a remote place. ;CONSTITUTION: A spatial information managing means 11 and a video arrangement control means 22 provide a video display impressing a virtual conference room and a collaborative work state detecting means 15 and an operation input managing means 21 converts even pointing operation outside a collaborative work area into operation information of a collaborative work means when the operation is related to the collaborative work. Further, a spatial reproduction video generating means 24 is provided to visually represent the state of the collaborative work means such as the operation right by utilizing the arrangement in the virtual conference space, and a sharing state control means 12, an operation input composition controller 13, and a collaborative work video distribution controller 14 allows the users to change the positions of the collaborative work areas on the screens, thereby controlling the sharing state of the collaborative work areas just like materials are exchanged on the conference table.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
