PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gathering machine which can drastically reduce the frequency of cleaning work for a paper detection sensor. ;SOLUTION: It is arranged between a plurality of paper feeding means 2a, 2b and 2c and a conveying means 2 for conveying sheets of paper P1, P2 and P3 fed out of each of the paper feeding means 2a, 2b and 2c while overlapped. And the sheets of paper P1, P2 and P3 fed out of each of the paper feeding devices 2a, 2b and 2c are made to pass between a light emitting element 5a and a light receiving element 5b, and a nozzle 13 for injecting air is arranged in the neighborhood of a paper detection sensor 5 for detecting overlapping and so on of the paper by the light amount penetrating the paper for blowing dust around a light emitting part of the light emitting element 5a and a light receiving part of the light receiving element 5b so that accumulation of dust on the light emitting element 5a and the light receiving element 5b is prevented.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
