PREPARATION OF THERMOPLASTIC POLYURETHANE RESIN HAVING HIGH DYNAMIC STORAGE MODULUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing a thermoplastic polyurethane resin which exhibits a high dynamic storage modulus at a medium or high hardness. ;SOLUTION: This thermoplastic polyurethane resin is prepared from (a) a polyisocyanate, (b) a chain extender and (c) a polyester polyol which is obtained from isophthalic acid/adipic acid in a mole ratio of 3/7 to 7/3 and a diol having a molecular weight of 120 or less and which has a molecular weight of 400 to 3,000, wherein b/c is 0.1 to 10 in a mole ratio and a/(b+c) is 0.7 to 1.3 in a mole ratio. The resulting polyurethane resin has, at a temperature of 60°C or lower, a durometer hardness D of 40 to 80 and a dynamic storage modulus of 0.5 to 2.5×10¹⁰ dyn/cm².;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
