Sediment discharge device of Pelton turbine needle

PURPOSE:To inhibit sediment from being accumulated in a cylinder of a needle servomotor in a Pelton wheel provided with the built-in needle servomotor. CONSTITUTION:A guiding hole 7 is formed on the upper stream side of a bottom part of a cylinder 4a of a needle servomotor 4, while a discharging hole 8 of the diameter larger than that of the guiding hole 7, is formed on the lower stream side. Since the water pressure is higher on the side of the guiding hole 7 than on the side of the discharging hole 8, water and sediment 9 guided in from the guiding hole 7 pass through the cylinder 4 by means of the difference in pressure, and are discharged out of the discharging hole 8. The sediment 9 is not accumulated in the cylinder 4a, while a needle 2 does not cause malfunction.
