PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply lathe machining without difficulty to a raw material consisting of a material hard to be machined by using a lathe including an NC-type automatic lathe. ;SOLUTION: A raw material 1 is held by a chuck of a lathe for turning machining or of a lathe machining device for other machining than the turning machining. In order to carry out lathe machining with avoiding run-out by holding the outer periphery (of the material 1), a solid, lubricating layer 2 for low friction having the prescribed thickness is formed at least at prescribed positions. In addition, the material 1 is held by a run-out preventing device 3 in such a manner that the device 3 slides over or touches the solid lubricating layer 2, so that the lathe machining is conducted with preventing the run-out.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
