PURPOSE: To rapidly desorb adsorbed matter, to shorten the time required to regenerate an adsorptive body and to increase the efficiency of regeneration by impregnating and fixing an adsorbent into the inside and on the surface of a sheet with a built-in heating element or chemically synthesizing and fixing an adsorbent, connecting terminals to both ends of the heating element and carrying out regeneration or activation by resistance heating. ;CONSTITUTION: A heating element 2a such as a heating fine wire is built in a sheet, preferably a low density sheet 1 based on inorg. fibers, an adsorbent or absorbent is fixed on the sheet 1 and the sheet 1 is allowed to heat by supplying electric current to the heating element 2a to enable desorption and regeneration. Zeolite, silica gel, alumina gel or active carbon may be used as the adsorbent and it is impregnated and fixed with an inorg. binder.
