Bonding method and fiber reinforced hydrogenated nitrile rubber belt with hydrogenated nitrile rubber composition and a fibrous material

PURPOSE:To firmly bond both materials of a fiber material and a hydrogenated nitrile rubber composition and obtain a rubber composition useful for hoses, tires, etc., by treating the fiber material with a treating solution containing an epoxy group-containing compound and then subjected the resultant treated material to adhesion crosslinking with the hydrogenated nitrile rubber composition. CONSTITUTION:A fiber material is treated with a treating solution containing an epoxy group-containing compound. The resultant fiber material is then subjected to adhesion crosslinking treatment with a hydrogenated nitrile rubber composition prepared by blending 100 rubber with 0.2-10pts.wt. organic peroxide (e.g. dicumyl peroxide) and 3-100pts.wt. metallic salt of an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid to bond both the materials.
