PURPOSE:To effectively produce mounting data in a short time, by arranging a real board on a mounting data producing apparatus, storing image data of the real board by using a sensor part, processing the stored image data, and designating relating lands or holes. CONSTITUTION:A printed board for which data preparation is required is arranged on the mounting board setting table 2 on a scanner main body 1. The printed board is subjected to one cycle scanning by using a CCD sensor part 3; the image data of the printed board are read and stored on a computer 7; the read image data are subjected to binary processing, and classified into land data and others. The processed image data are displayed on the monitor surface of the computer 7; the arbitrary location of land or hole relating to each parts is designated; mounting position of each parts on the printed board is calculated. After mounting positions of all objective parts are calculated, data of mechanical information and parts information data are input with the computer 7, thereby producing mounting data.
