PURPOSE: To combust a vapor flammable solvent in air which is laden in an air floatation dryer, by controlling an exhaust fan speed in relation to an air chamber and by controlling supply air temperature on a real time basis according to positions of high-temperature air return dampers regulating high-temperature combustion in a burner area. CONSTITUTION: The speed of a variable speed exhaust fan 56 is controlled so as to maintain a constant pressure of a combustion chamber. The burning velocity of a burner 66 is controlled according to a temperature set point in a ceramic insulated combustion compartment 64. A computer monitors the concentration of a solvent by an LFL monitor. The computer controls the speed of the exhaust fan in relation to the pressure of an air chamber 48, controls the burning velocity of the burner on the basis of combustion chamber temperature and controls supply air temperature according to positions of high-temperature air return dampers 88a-88n which return high-temperature combustion products to an inlet 100 of a dryer recirculation fan. Besides, the computer controls the amount of exhaust of LFL according to the speed of the exhaust fan and controls the pressure of the air chamber according to positions of exhaust dampers.
