PURPOSE:To efficiently improve survival rate of new-born young animals by orally administering dead bacterial cells of Clostridium butyricum MIYAIRI to a female animal having reproduction ability. CONSTITUTION:Dead bacterial cells of Clostridium butyricum MIYAIRI, e.g. a feed obtained by mixing 109 to 103 dead bacterial cells of Clostridium butyricum MIYAIRI in 1 ton feed are orally administered to a female animal of livestock, poultry, etc., to improve survival rate of new-born young animals.
