PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a phase error as to light in any path in plural input and output ports. ;SOLUTION: The first and second input and output ports 16, 18 are provided in the first input and output face of a flat waveguide 10, five connecting ports 20, 22, 24, 26, 28 are provided in the second input and output face 15, and a product value given by multiplying the sum (Di+Di+1) of optical path lengthes along two lines linking the adjacent two connecting ports with the first input and output port 16 respectively, and the angle Δθi formed by the two lines together is made constant irrespective of combination of the adjacent connecting ports[(Di+Di+1)Δθi = constancy.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
