PURPOSE: To easily shape and correct the lens deviated and deformed from set standards for molding at the time of subjecting the thermosetting resin lens for spectacles to various heating stages after molding the lens. ;CONSTITUTION: This shaping method consists in receiving the circumferential part of the objective face 4 of the thermosetting resin lens 3 for spectacles with its objective face faced downward with a supporting face having the same plane and forming the circumferential part of the objective face 4 of the lens 3 to the same plane by its own weight of the lens 3 while relieving the internal and external stresses of the lens 3 by resting the lens for a proper period in a temp. atmosphere above the glass transition point of the lens 3. The support 1 for shaping to be used in the method consists of a cylindrical pedestal 6 and a mold 5 for forming the objective face fitted to the inner side of the pedestal 6. The concave spherical face part of the mold 5 is formed as the supporting surface for the lens 3. This supporting surface is formed smaller than the radius of curvature formed by the objective face 4 of the lens 3.
