PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system to enhance a network transmission capacity in a telephone line exchange network by decreasing a band width of a voice channel while keeping the quality of a voice signal to that of a central station. ;SOLUTION: A network transmission capacity of a telephone line exchange network 400 is increased by changing a frame structure used for network information communication into a format having a sub time slot. The change is made by network terminal stations 425, 430, central stations 405, 410, accessory devices 426, 436, 491, 492, 494, 495 added to relay stations 415, 420. Information communication between the terminal station and the central station or between the relay stations is conducted via the network accessory devices by using a frame structure whose format is revised. For example, a silence period in voice communication with a low data density is compressed in the unit of sub time slots and the network transmission capacity is improved.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
