PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compact, highly reliable and very cheap synchronous electrical machine especially adapted to operate at a constant power over a wide speed range. ;SOLUTION: A rotor 1 of an electrical machine has permanent magnets 2 in its periphery. The stator of the electrical machine forms a polyphase magnetic circuit, and the electrical machine includes means for varying phase angles among its voltages, currents, magnet magnetic fluxes and stator magnetic fluxes. Also, the rotor 1 includes a predetermined number of magnetic-pole pieces 3 to provide between the adjacent magnetic-pole pieces 3 at least one predetermined-width bearing permanent magnets 2 magnetized radially or axially.
