NEW THERAPEUTIC/PREVENTIVE AGENT FOR POLLAKIURIA/ INCONTINENCE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject therapeutic/preventive agent slight in side effects and effective for treating pollakiuria/incontinence due to cerebrovascular disorders or Parkinson's disease, by including, as active ingredient, a compound bearing a combination of central micturition reflex inhibitory effect and peripheral calcium antagonism. ;SOLUTION: This agent contains, as active ingredient, a compound bearing a combination of central micturition reflex inhibitory effect and peripheral calcium antagonism [e.g. 1-(4-methoxy-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-1-naphthyl)-2-(1- pyrrolidinomethyl)-1-butanone]. The daily dose of this agent is 1-100 mg in one to several portions through oral route. This agent is capable of increasing bladder volume and extending micturition intervals, does not develop hydrodipsia and anuresis as side effects, being also effective for patients with atropine- resistant contraction increase.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
