PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject lens material optically transparent, highly permeable to oxygen and improved in mechanical strength, by using water- nonswellable polyurethane consisting of silicone-containing component repeated units and specially skeletal benzene ring repeated units, and having a three- dimensional network structure at a specific urethane concentration. ;SOLUTION: This material comprises 10-60 wt.% of reated units expressed by formula I (R1 and R2 are each a 1-4C hydrocarbon, (d) is 4-30) and (B) 1.5-30 wt.% of repeated units expressed by formula II (X is CH2, etc.; R3 and R4 are each H, etc.; R5-R12 are each H, etc.; (m) and (n) are each 0-5).
