PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for achieving and/or monitoring a specified filled level in a container, capable of achieving a fixed phase difference between a received signal and a transmitting signal regardless of vibration quality, and capable of obtaining a received input signal faithful to a desired measured signal. ;SOLUTION: This apparatus is provided with a mechanical vibrational structure and a piezoelectric element 2 having at least three regions. The first(I), second(II), and third(III) regions of the piezoelectric element 2 has a transmitting electrode 21, a first receiving electrode, and a second receiving electrode respectively. The two receiving electrodes 22, 23 have the same shape, and are arranged symmetrically to each other and to the transmitting electrode 21. The first and second regions(I, II) has polarization in the opposite direction to that of the third region(III), and a received signal (E) is equal to the difference between a first signal (E₁) of the first receiving electrode 22 and a second signal (E₂) of the second receiving electrode 23.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
