PURPOSE:To provide a composition for the treatment of synthetic fiber and a treating process capable of improving the bonding force of a rubber and a synthetic fiber used as a reinforcing material, especially bonding force of a rubber and a polyester fiber without causing the problems of safety and handling. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition for the treatment of synthetic fiber is composed of (A) an unsaturated urethane of formula [X is residue obtained by removing isocyanate group from 2 to 6-valent polyisocyanate or polyurethane polyisocyanate; Y1 and Y2 are residue obtained by removing OH from 2 to 4-valent polyol or (poly)ether polyol; (p) and (q) are 1-3; (m) and (n) are 0-6; m+n is 2-6] and (B) a lubricating oil component composed mainly of a lubricant and/or a surfactant at a weight ratio (A/B) of 5/95 to 100/0. The above unsaturated urethane and the lubricating oil component are applied to a melt- spun synthetic fiber before and/or after drawing at a weight ratio (unsaturated urethane/lubricating oil component) of 5/95 to 100/0 and the applied unsaturated urethane is hardened to obtain the treated synthetic fiber.
