Apparatus for filling water in vent pipe of containment vessel and method of testing differential pressure in containment vessel using the apparatus

PURPOSE:To achieve a decrease in manhour of water filling and draining a vent pipe and a minimization of temporary equipment by installing a temporary piping for connecting the inside of the vent pipe and a suppression chamber through a temporary shutoff plate of a horizontal vent pipe. CONSTITUTION:A temporary piping 5 pierces a temporary shutoff plate 4 at the lowest stage of a horizontal vent pipe 3b to connect a vent pipe 3a and a bottom part to the bottom part of a suppression chamber water 7. A valve 6 is set on the side of the water 7 of the piping 5. In filling operation, a valve 6 arranged on the piping 5 is opened to feed the water 7 and the vent pipe 3b is filled with the water by a water pressure through the piping 5. Then, after the completion of filling the water, the valve 6 set on the piping is closed and the vent pipe 3b and the water 7 can be separated which allows the performing of a differential pressure test. In draining operation, the valve 6 of the piping 5 is opened to drain the water 7. Thus, internal water 8 of the vent pipe 3b is discharged simultaneously.
