PURPOSE: To build an inclined underground passage introduction section reaching from the ground to a tunnel section under an existing railway or passage virtually without using a cut-and-cover method. ;CONSTITUTION: A pipe roof 12 having a strip material 11 placed on top is buried, passing from a start shaft 7 to an arrival shaft 8 along a railway 5 immediately thereunder. Then, an underground passage forming structure 1 of U-shaped cross section having a removable upper floor slab 2 at an upper end opening as well as an inclined intermediate slab 3 integrated with the lower side of the slab 2, is propelled from the side of the shaft 7 and buried, while the roof 12 and the slab 2 being replaced for each other. Thereafter, the railway 5, sediment, the strip material 11 and the upper floor slab 2 above the structure 1 are removed, thereby forming an underground passage introduction section open upward through the structure 1.
