PURPOSE: To provide a preparation process which can efficiently prepare a lanthanum cerium terbium phosphate phosphor without use of an excessive amount of starting compd. by reacting a lanthanum cerium terbium oxalate with boron phosphate at a suitable temp. to prepare a mixture comprising a lanthanum cerium terbium phosphate phosphor and boron oxide and separating the lanthanum cerium terbium phosphate phosphor and boron oxide from each other. ;CONSTITUTION: A lanthanum cerium terbium phosphate oxalate is sintered using a boron phosphate as a phosphate source for about 1.5 to 4 hr at 1,150 to 1,300°C which is suitable for the formation of a mixture comprising a lanthanum cerium terbium phosphate phosphor and boron oxide. The sintered cake comprising a lanthanum cerium terbium phosphate phosphor and boron oxide is pulverized. The powder is washed in 2% dilute nitric acid at 90°C for 4 hr and then filtered. The separated white phosphor is washed to obtain the contemplated phosphor represented by the formula (wherein x is 0.39 to 0.73; y is 0.17 to 0.45; and z is 0.10 to 0.16).;COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO
