PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more efficiently utilize a memory and to prevent job stall in a high memory load. SOLUTION: Inside a working set managing table 1, 'the number of reserved pages' of 'minimum memory capacity always possessable for each working set frame' is held in each entry. In the case of executing working set recheck based on an instruction from a working set frame opening means 5 and a page allocating means 6 or the like, when the number of pages belonging to a certain working set frame is less than the number of reserved pages for this working set frame, a working set rechecking means 4 performs control for securing the differential number of these pages as the number of peculiar empty pages belonging to that working set frame. When allocating the pages to a certain working set frame, the page allocating means 6 acquires the pages from the 'empty pages as many as the number of peculiar empty pages belonging to the relevant working set frame'.
