PURPOSE:To prevent a jam from its generation by providing such constitution as placing a copying machine main unit in a print inhibiting condition by judging a set condition abnormal to report the abnormal set condition, in the case that a document bunch is set beyond a stop pawl on a document loading base. CONSTITUTION:The numeral 6 is a document set sensor for detecting whether a document is set or not on a document loading base 1, and the numeral 31 is a partition sensor which detects whether a position of a point end of the document D is placed or not beyond a left side from a stop pawl 5. When the document is detected by both the partition sensor 31 and the document set sensor 6, a control means 60 places a copying machine main unit 100 in a print inhibiting condition in accordance with these detection signals, and an abnormal set report means 90 reports an abnormal set condition in the case of setting the document D with its point end side beyond the stop pawl 5. The control means 60 and the abnormal set report means 90 are provided. In this control means 60, data transmission is performed by serial communication with the copying machine main unit 100 through a microcomputer.
