PURPOSE:To promote work efficiency and economic efficiency by turning a shield excavator after the shield excavator and a vertical shaft shield frame are combined to excavate a vertical shaft, and driving forward the shield excavator alone to excavate a horizontal shaft. CONSTITUTION:A shield excavator 4 connected to the front end of a vertical shaft shield frame 5 so that it is capable of turning in the vertical direction and the vertical shaft shield frame 5 are combined to drive forward, and a vertical shaft 1 is excavated up to the position of a specific depth. Then, after the shield excavator 4 is turned in the direction of a horizontal shaft 2, the shield excavator 4 is driven forward alone, and the horizontal shaft 2 is excavated. According to the constitution, the vertical shaft 1 and horizontal shaft 2 can be continuously excavated by one machine only.
