PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a membrane having a skin layer on the membrane surface with few pin holes and, therefore, having superior separation degree of water/an organic solvent or superior gas separation degree and permeability as compared with a common polyimide type symmetric hollow fiber membrane. ;SOLUTION: An imide type polymer solution is spun or formed into a film, heated, treated with an aqueous alkaline solution, kept in distilled water, and dried in vacuum to reform a part of the imide ring on the surface to be an amido acid.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
