PURPOSE: To provide a method and device for advancing a straight rolling rod in the axial direction and smoothly feeding it into a cooling bed without a rebound. ;CONSTITUTION: A rod part is transported from a flying shear 3 through a run-in table 6 to a cooling bed 60. An electromagnetic coil 11 is installed in a hollow roller in the downstream end 9 of the run-in table 6; hence, the tip end of the rod is attracted onto the roller 5, with the rebound of the rod prevented. After that, a braking force is applied to the tail end of the rod, which is raised by a lift apron 40 and transferred to the cooling bed.
