Method for producing chlorine-free hydrochloric acid with low content of organic halogen compounds

A process has been found for the preparation of an AOX-poor, chlorine-free hydrochloric acid from crude gases containing hydrogen chloride and organic impurities. The crude gases are subjected to a thermal treatment at 800 to 1600 DEG C in a reducing atmosphere. The hydrochloric acid obtained after absorption of the hydrogen chloride is chlorine-free and contains virtually no organic impurities. The off-gas is also chlorine-free. IMAGE
