Patent of Invention of "INDUSTRIALLY REALISTIC PROCESS FOR THE ALKALINE Leaching of a titaniferous material". An industrially realistic process is exposed for the alkaline leaching of a titaniferous material. The process comprises the following process steps: (I) leach the titaniferous material with an alkaline leacher in order to drive the imprints in the titaniferous material into the solution; and (II) treating the leachate in order to increase the leachate's efficiency in removing impurities in step (I). In particular, step (II) may involve heating the lye or adding additives, such as sodium silicate or lime to cause precipitation of alumina and silica.
