The invention relates to the gymnastic apparatus intended for physical exercises and body relaxation in places where there are no special sporting units. The present apparatus consisting of holder, fixing device, retaining pawl, changeable cassette with coil, return spring and elastic rubber rope is characterized in the following: - after the fixing device is pressed back the return spring tries to roll up the rope on the coil in its initial position; - in regular position the fixing device retains the elastic rope from spontaneous unrolling-rolling up and/or spontaneous swirling; - the body of the holder is equipped with an arm attached to the said holder or made together with the body of the holder and plug-type fixing unit allowing autonomous use of the apparatus; - the holder of the apparatus contains a changeable cassette with coil allowing quick replacement of ropes of varying flexibility, besides the fixing unit of the holders is equipped with bearings allowing the holder to rotate freely around its axle and fixing devices limiting the turning angle by 180o. The aim of the present method for performing physical exercises and relaxation is to provide the possibility of doing a complex of exercises in order to exercise various groups of muscles (elbow, shoulder, back, neck, waist, calf, foot joint and palm) directly in the office during the breaks or during the walks of the disabled, or for drives when stopping the cars on the road and the like. The present method for performing physical exercises and relaxation is characterised in that the said apparatus is fixed either to the sitting device (professional working place, office chair, invalid cart, ordinary chair, armchair, automobile seat and the like or to the constructive elements of buildings (door and window apertures and the like, or to massive furniture (wardrobe, heavy table and the like), or to the Swedish wall or gymnastics' bar in gymnasium and the like, or sufficiently massive natural objects (tree, rock and the like), i.e. practically everywhere: at work, at home, educational establishments, in the street, in the open air.
