The essence of an invention: composite material on the basis of cellulose containing plant life raw materials (chip, woodwaste, cut straw, reed and other cellulose containing materials) and mineral binder is offered to use for production of filtration elements, that are produced according to the following technology: type of binder - cement; coefficient of stuff shape (ratio between the biggest and the smallest sizes)- from 5 up 200; thickness of the stuff - from 0.2 up to 100 mm; proportions of binder and stuff (in mass units) depends on stuff type and sizes, as well on required mechanical strength - from 1:0.26 up to 1:0.9; the main technological operations - composition of mass, moulding and hardening. The composition is characterised by the following properties: minimum open porosity is within 2-5% limits, required absorption, leakage and strength values of material are regulated during manufacturing process by selection geometrical parameters of stuff, stuff and binder proportions and moulding pressure. The composite material may be used in filtering trench, filtering wells, biological filters and in other elements of waste water treatment plants.
