Building construction system for unstable ground

The building (1) has a foundation block or plate (2). The foundation is mounted on a number of piles (3) driven into the ground. The foundation inhibits cracks appearing the building wall as the walls settle. The piles inhibit tilting and sideways movement of the building. A variant of the building has a hollow foundation which forms a cellar. In another variant, the basement is separated from a foundation tray and piles by a basin of water. The water acts as a vibration damper.
